It’s fascinating to note that a language invented less than a hundred and fifty years ago now has a degree of legitimacy in organizations like UNESCO that even its publications get Esperanto translations. To keep Esperanto’s achievement in mind, Radaro directs your attention to UNESCO’s library which contains translations of Courier in Esperanto. These freely available editions go back to 2018, so you can view how global developments have been funneled to Esperantujo.

Gavaro: La Verda Slango

Unlike Popido from last week, Gavaro is more of a slangy version of Esperanto than it is “common speech.” Like Popido, however, it is one of Manuel Halvelik’s three sociolects which are hypothetical versions of Esperanto. It should be noted that the book recommends readers to have a good grasp of Esperanto in order to learn these sociolects, but it can also be a treat for beginners to be exposed to the creative endeavors of Esperantujo.

Aloo estas tre utila verdaĵo, kiun mi kreskigas en mia ĉambro.  Laste, miaj fingroj doloris min pro la malvarmo en Alasko.  Mi miris, ĉar la doloro estis simila kiel brulo, ĉu la aloo helpus kontraŭ la doloro el malvarmo.  Mi trovis, jes, laŭ mi, ĝi helpis.  Denove, mia venka ĝardeno venkis problemon.  Kia mirinda aĵo, estas aloo!

Amikino mia demandis al mi, kiel plej bone konservi ceteran folion de tranĉita aloo?

“Ĉu oni metis ĝin en plasta sako en fridujo?” Ŝi miris.

Konservi tiele detruus la celon de la folio, kaj tiam la sako plenos de ŝlimo kaj la folio mortos kaj nigros.  Antaŭen ŝi provis ĝin kaj mi vidis.  

Post kiam on tranĉas folion, milde kunpremigi la randon kaj metu ĝin ie seka kaj ne tro malvarma.  Kiam vi volas uzi pli da suko el folio, tranĉu malgrandan pecon kaj denove milde fermi randon.  Mia aloa folio daŭris ĝis mi tute uzis ĝin.
