Pri “Ci”
Ĉiu kiu esperanton parolas, aŭ eĉ komencas lerni ĝin, scias ke “vi” signifas la duan personon (ununombran aŭ plurnombran). Sed, ekzistas alia pronomo dupersona ununombra kiu estas preskaŭ neniam uzita: “ci”. Al Zamenhofo mem ne plaĉis “ci” ĉar ĝi povis krei formalecon kiu ekzistas en aliaj lingvoj (ekzemple la malformala “tu” kontraŭ la formala “Lei” de la itala). Tio ĉi okazis en la angla, kie ekzistis (antaŭ longtempe) “thou/thee/thy/thine”. Tiu ĉi pronomo estis pli formala ol “you”, sed je la fino de ĝia uzado “thou” estis iomete malĝentila. Kiam “ci” estas uzita (tre malkutime), ĉefe ĝi estas uzita en preĝado, ekzemple la preĝado de la Sinjoro “…Venu Cia regno. Fariĝu Cia volo…”. Sed la uzado de “ci” malplimultiĝas eĉ tie, kaj “vi” estas uzata. Dum la pronomo ne estas uzata, ĝi ne devas malmemoriĝi. Anstataŭ, ĝi devas esti memoron de la ŝanĝebleco de la lingvo.
On “Ci”
Anyone who speaks Esperanto, or even starts to learn it, knows that “vi” means the second person (singular or plural). But, there is another second-person singular pronoun that is almost never used: “ci”. Zamenhof himself did not like “ci” because it could create a formality that exists in other languages (for example, the informal “tu” against the formal “Lei” of Italian). This happened in English, where there was (a long time ago) “thou/thee/thy/thine”. This pronoun was more formal than “you”, but at the end of its use “thou” was slightly rude. When “ci” is used (very rarely), it is mainly used in prayer, for example the prayer of the Lord “…Let His kingdom come. Let His will be done…”. But the use of “ci” is decreasing even there, and “vi” is used. As long as the pronoun is not used, it should not be forgotten. Instead, it should be a memory of the changeability of the language.

Tra vs. Trans
It’s preposition time!
Tra and Trans are two very similar words in Esperanto; however, their usage differs.
Trans: Across or over
Tra: Through
For example, if one went from Brazil to Portugal, they would have gone “trans” the ocean, not necessarily “tra” the ocean (although maybe they took a submarine — who knows, with the cost of travel these days it might be cheaper than flying).
As an added note, remember that “tra” always relates to a position, to do something “through means of”, we would use the preposition “per” or “pere de”. So, one who went to Portugal from Brazil may say “Mi iris trans la oceano per(-e de) ŝipo”.
